Famous Cats in the World of Animation

GarfieldThe movie industry is not exclusive to human actors and actresses alone. In fact, there are numerous animals, both fiction and non-fiction that have made quite an impact and even left a mark. On that list, we have Lassie, Free Willy, King Kong, Jaws, and so much more. On the cartoon side of things, we have Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends such as Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Pete, Humphrey the Bear, and many more. We also have Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes friends such as Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Porky Pig, Tazmanian Devil, Wile E. Coyote, and the rest of the gang. There is a wide variety of animals that made it big in the film industry. There are dogs, whales, gorillas, mouse, ducks, pigs, and even a coyote.

Among those animals that are well-known worldwide, the cat family will most certainly not be left behind. One of the most famous feline pet, even though it is very lazy and fat, is Garfield. The character of Garfield is known to love lasagna and coffee, and hates Mondays and raisins. This particular cartoon character was able to capture the interest of a lot of people because most can relate to him. Some people are lazy and have very minimal motivation to work. A lot of people love to eat just like Garfield who has the ability to just eat a lot. Sleeping is also his favorite hobby. If you take a closer look, Garfield resembles the ideal personality of an average working individual, which is why he is loved by many.



Another famous big cat is Simba. He was made famous by the movie, The Lion King. His character, as well as the movie, was loved by many because almost everyone loves a storyline wherein the main star is defeated at first, but when the tables turn, the protagonist gets his sweet revenge and ends up where he is supposed to be, the rightful heir to the throne and declared as the Lion King.





Another famous cat goes way back to 1940. Being that old, almost everyone knows the unending rivalry between Tom and Jerry, wherein Jerry the mouse almost always wins. This duo first appeared on theaters on February 10, 1940. It was not even Tom and Jerry back then. The cat was named Jasper and the mouse was called Jinx in their debut appearances. With over 70 years of experience in the entertainment industry, as well as several awards that come along with that, Tom and Jerry has been a pillar in cartoon comedy which is why it is being patronized by so many.

Other recognizable felines are Puss in Boots, Pink Panther, Tigger, Felix the Cat, Sylvester, and a whole lot more. One particular cat has caused some confusion in the recent years regarding its true identity. Until now, some people are still unsure whether Hello Kitty is a cat or not.
